Khaled Hosseini is a physician working as a U.S. envoy for UNHCR, the UN refugee agency. He is from Afganistan though settled in USA. He writes depicting the real conditions of depicting showing a concern for his motherland and strives for improvement in conditions by showing a ray of hope and optimism for his countrymen through his novels.
