Evaluation of Water Quality by using Water Quality Index and using QGIS of Different Lakes Of Jabalpur City

Abstract
Water is essential for life. The pollution of water sources is big trouble. Since the beginning of human existence rivers and lakes plays an important role in the process of development. Similarly, in Jabalpur, there were about 52 lakes (Tal) that existed in past but at present 36 lakes are in existence. Most of the water bodies of the city have been finished due to urbanization, and humanistic activities and some of them are on the verge of disappearing. In the present study an attempt has been made to mention the water quality of a few polluted lakes of the city and the present water quality was compared with the past water quality the method adopted was trending WQI using QGIS an open-source software. The present study is helpful to environmental planning and pollution control measures.
