Smart Governance of Rock Arts through IoT based Processing and Preservation

Abstract
This paper is aimed at proposing an IoT based preservation of Rock art Images in to Cloud which lead to smart governance of devastating rock arts. Rock Arts could be considered as worldwide heritage and there must be a technology to preserve and govern them. IoT have materialized, because of the advent in information and communication technologies. In this paper, rock art images are captured through web cameras which are interfaced with IoT agent. IoT agent will deploy the rock art images in Cloud through Thingspeak channel. Further, these images are processed using MATLAB in Thingspeak channel. It is possible to transmit these processed images to people or organization interested in that domain at a remote location using GPRS/GSM. It is proposed to use UPnP with IoT to deploy the rock art images in cloud.Since, it is proposed to make rock art images available in the Cloud, historical analysis of rock art images could be feasible from the cloud. The cloud could support in managing the increasing volume of these rock art data in rock art conservation, professionally share the information across rock art research Institutions, and bring down operational and management costs, leading to smart governance of rock arts. In this paper, Intel Galileo gen 2 which plays the role of IoT agent to deploy the rock art images in to the Cloud is proposed and implemented. The Rock art images could also be made accessible in the mobile phone of the interested researchers through the connection possibilities with IoT agent.
