Abstract
The carrying angle is acute angle between median axis of the upper arm with fully extended and supinated forearm. The present study includes 200 healthy peoples of both sexes of Haryana region of age group 17-40 years were selected. Carrying angle was measured by manual goniometer made of flexible clear plastic having both the fixed and movable arms. From the study it was found that mean right carrying angle was 9.35°±1.49° in males and 12.5±2.87° in females. The mean left Carrying angle was found to be 8.75°±1.51° in males and 11.45°±2.50° in females. Mean right Carrying angle and mean left Carrying angle were found to be greater in females than in males and differences were statistically highly significant (p<0.01). The data obtained in our study may be useful in anthropological research, forensics, genetic research, as well as in medical clinical practice.
