Enhancing Temporal User Navigation With Log File Analysis in The Education Domain

Abstract
Easy navigation is usually the prime motivation for website owners, which results in returning visitors and effective use of a website. In the educationdomain, the interest of stakeholders visiting the website changes according to priority time-to-time. Adapting the changes according to the time and dealing with anomalies like the COVID-19 pandemic are vital in maintaining an effective and engaging platform for the stakeholders. With the help of real-world data from the educational institution, there is a need to build a methodology to identify the temporal usage patterns. This work introduces the metrics used, data cleaning, time-based analysis, and event-based analysis and finally, shows the proposed solution for navigation behavior on the website. Keywords - log file analysis, recommender system, education domain, click-through rate (CTR).
