Paper Title
Fatigue Analysis on a Nose Landing Gear

Abstract
This paper presents a fatigue analysis of an ose landing gear. According to “FEDERALAVIATION ADMINISTRATION”, about 50% of aircraft failures occur during take-off and Landing. It was observed that fatigue is developed at the contact area between the fork and connecting rod. Such that it can be concluded that the referred area was subjected to cyclic load, which results in fatigue failure. Landing gear design is done on Catia platform and the analysis is done by using NASTRAN and PATRAN software. The fatigue life is calculated for the designed landing gear. The conclusion is that the nose wheel fork is subject to cyclic loading, leading to the component failure due to fatigue.
