Frictional Efficiency of Lubricants Containing Nano Additives: A Systematic Review

Abstract
A decreased coefficient of friction is achieved when nanoparticles are added to lubricants at the optimal concentration, as documented in the aforementioned literature. In this article, we take a look at the COF (coefficient of friction) and nano additives in various lubricants. Nanoparticles were tested with both synthetic and bio lubricants to determine their impact on friction. Consequences of utilizing nanoparticles are discussed. When nanoparticles are employed as an additive, friction is reduced, and the reasons responsible for this are explained. Some of the most popular nanoparticles used in lubricants recently have been CuO (copper oxide), MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide), and TiO2 (titanium dioxide) (titanium dioxide). Some research limitations are also highlighted in the report. Keywords - Nanoparticles; Friction; Wear; Tribology; Biolubricants; Synthetic Oils; Lubrication Mechanisms; Agglomeration
