Comparative Analysis of Use of OTT Media during Covid Period and Post Covid Period in Ahmedabad

Abstract
‘Whosoever controls the media, controls the mind’ – Jim Morrison (American singer, poet and song writer). Years back, black and white screen had been replaced by big size colorful screens and lateron laptops and mobile phones replaced TV screens. Especially since 3 years, media and entertainment industry is witnessing technological advancement and shift of people towards OTT platform. But the biggest threat is how long this popularity of OTT platform will sustain? Pandemic has changed individuals and their way of thinking and working. Closing down of theaters and work home culture led people shift towards OTT platform, but question always sustained whether OTT industry would be in the same scenario, if theaters are? In order to arrive at answer to this question, two surveys were conducted, one in 1st week of March 2021(Termed as period A) - at the time when Covid cases are at its peak, people were locked at home, offices were closed, events were postponed. The 2nd survey was done exactly after a year that is in 1st week of March 2022 (termed as period B) when everything was back to normal and theaters were open.
