Paper Title
Exploring the Nonlinear Dynamics of Thunderstorms by Empirical Mode Decomposing Method and its Relation with Climate Change
Abstract
Havoc thunderstorms, which often include lightning, heavy rain and hailstorms, are a weather danger that can result in fatalities, flash flooding, and crop damage. In fact, the recent trends of irregularity inclimate dynamics have a negative impact on the environment and the economy. To comprehend the atmospheric physics of thunderstorms, the authors studied the climate scenario of the metropolitan city Kolkata (and its surroundings), India area using various statistical techniques such as Standard deviation, Mean, Pearson Linear Correlation, and Principal Component analysis. In the present paper, 30 years old climate parameters such as Atmospheric Pressure, Geo-potential Height,Temperature,Dew point Temperature,Relative Humidity,Relative Humidity with respect to Ice,Mixing Ratio,Wind Direction,Potential Temperature,Equivalent Potential Temperature,Virtual Potential Temperature etc.(recorded during 1990) and present data of 2020 were considered to study the variations in the climate parameters in the 30 years span. To understand the nonlinear dynamics of the thunderstorm, all the individual signals (climate parameters) were split up into a number of intrinsic mode function (IMF) components, which were then filtered to remove the noise-dominant components. The computational results show fascinating changes in the climate parameters in the 30 years span. Possible impacts on the weather of Kolkata city due to changes in climate parameters have been discussed here.
