Performance Evaluation of Sectoral/The matic Mutual Fund Schemes Based on Key Parameters
Abstract
Abstract - Over a period of 5 years the the Mutual Fund AUM has grown twice from Rs. 17.89 trillion to Rs. 37.56 trillion. This growth indicates the rising awareness of investors to earn more returns on their hard earned money. There are many key parameters based on which historical performance of a mutual fund scheme is analysed and future performance can also be anticipated. The biggest obstacle is to understand these parameters which are in fact mathematical calculations called ratios.
Here, in this study ratios like Beta, Jensen’s Alpha, Treynor’s ratio, Sharpe ratio have been studies in depth to make reader aware how to analyse them. These ratios indicate individual as well comparative performance with its peer. This comparison is very important as it exhibits the Fund Managers ability to generate returns for its investors irrespective the kind of market scenario.
The study is a guide for those who are looking forward to invest in Thematic Mutual Fund schemes and want to invest in most profitable scheme. The study in based on Mutual Fund schemes focused on 2 sectors Infrastructure and Fast Moving Consumer Goods. These two sectors have been selected due to its ever increasing demand in our growing economy
