Paper Title
BREAKING THE GENDER BIAS- DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Abstract
Abstract - “Domestic abuse doesn't discriminate gender”. It is an issue faced by millions of people worldwide, though it is predominantly associated with females while men are also a victim of domestic violence at large. However, due to societal gender discrimination and prejudices, domestic violence against men is frequently unrecognized and underreported. The significance of eliminating gender discrimination in recognizing domestic abuse at large along with analyzing some remedial strategies are being discussed in this paper. This paper deals with some key steps for eliminating gender biases for the proper development of a gender-neutral and in-discriminatory society, which include raising awareness and educating people, about domestic violence against men. The general perception is that men are typically seen to be immune to domestic violence, which causes the offender toescape the clutches of punishment. In India, domestic violence against men is not explicitly addressed in the statutes of the state. Humanity goes beyond gender, or any prejudices put across by us humans. Once we start seeing through the biases, we will be able to build a just world for all genders. So, as a final word, let's be humans first and look through the lens of humanity and not gender.
