CFD ANALYSIS OF DRAG REDUCTION OF AIR FRAME IN HEAVY WEIGHT HELICOPTERS
Abstract
Abstract - Computations were made on an isolated fuselage of a heavy weight helicopter by taking the alignment of the fuselage parallel to the wind flow. Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis is been performed in this research work to control parasite drag of fuselage using Ansys Fluent. The efficiency of flow management for reducing helicopter fuselage drag utilizing steady blowing jets is investigated in this study. Evaluation of various jet velocity ratios was performed for the analysis. Simulation was performed for different sizes and designs to assess the best model that can give minimum drag for the helicopter.
